No, it's not bad because it's homophobic. Boat Trip goes out of its way to tell you it's not homophobic, complete with tender music in the background, while SNL's Horatio Sanz explains how much he's learning to like "the gays." No, this movie about two straight men (Cuba Gooding Jr. and Sanz), who mistakenly board a gay cruise, is bad, because there is not one single funny moment in any of its tortuous 93 minutes. Not a chuckle. Not a smirk. Nothing. On this Love That Dare Not Speak Its Name Boat, Gooding falls for a female dance instructor, Sanz chases some Swedish bikini models, Roger Moore shows up to leer at Sanz, and the audience is left fantasizing about a giant iceberg ripping the bow. Sadly, the iceberg thing never happens, so everyone drowns in an ocean of lame gags instead. By all means, don't board this Boat.
