Plot:
Gene Hackman stars as a former U.S. president who retires to a small New England coastal town to write his memoirs and reflect on his life in politics. But his new neighbors have other ideas; they plead with him to fill the vacant mayoral seat. In the interest of fairness, a local hardware store owner (Ray Romano) runs against him, setting off a surprisingly fierce and competitive campaign.
