The story is said to take place over the last 12 hours of Christ's life, on the day of his crucifixion, and will be filmed in Latin and Aramaic with no subtitles. As Mel Gibson told Time Magazine, "The audience will have to focus on the visuals, but they had silent films before talkies arrived, and people went to see them."
