Overview

This documentary-style drama re-creates the deadly events of Sunday, Jan. 30, 1972, in the Catholic district of Derry in Northern Ireland, where 13 unarmed Northern Ireland Civil Rights Association demonstrators protesting the British internment of Irish citizens without a fair trial were shot to death by members of the British Parachute Regiment. The bloody outcome is credited for reigniting the decades-long civil war between the Irish and the British and inspiring thousands to join the Irish Republican Army.
