Overview

In the small town of Torquay, England, lawn bowling is the sport of choice, and conservative, uptight Ray Speight (James Cromwell) is a local legend, not to mention the defending champ. Ray's reign is threatened by wild thing Cliff Starkey (Paul Kaye), a handsome young upstart whose sex appeal helps turn lawn bowls into a worldwide phenomenon. With a slick American agent (Vince Vaughn) and thousands of fans on his side, Cliff has stolen Ray's thunder, and, further raising his ire, Cliff has begun dating his daughter.
