Overview
Dan Dunne (Ryan Gosling) teaches junior high school in Brooklyn. It's a tough job, but he somehow finds the inspiration to teach history to his disadvantaged kids. The work wears him down, though, and he spends his off hours developing a serious drug problem. When one of his students, Drey (Shareeka Epps), catches him getting high after school, Dan's life is suddenly complicated.
