Give Sandler credit: He obviously set out to make the most tasteless holiday film ever -- a cartoon musical no less -- and he succeeded. If you want to see animated characters belch, get covered in excrement, munch on jock straps and otherwise behave badly, hark his herald.
Davey (voiced by Sandler) is a misanthropic 33-year-old alcoholic Jew who regains his lost humanity over the Hanukkah (the titular eight crazy nights) and Christmas season. Who on earth would want to see this gross-out -- but also grossly sentimental -- tale? Sandler's biggest fans: 13-year-old boys in age, or in spirit.
