Sure, you can say this marches to a similar beat as Bring It On, but even if it is formulaic, Drumline is fun. Nick Cannon plays a skin-bangin' prodigy who's learning the ropes in a southern college's marching band where the half-time show is the big show. But he has got a little secret and some difficulty getting in tune with the others. The music--and Cannon's sly charisma--will get your heart racing. (Who knew the marching band could be this cool?) And Orlando Jones, as a militant band instructor, successfully plays against type. Hitting most of the right notes, this is one band class you won't be embarrassed to attend.
