Australian actress Portia De Rossi may be a poster girl for lesbians since her sexuality was revealed last year, but she was once married - to a man. According to reports, de Rossi got engaged to her live-in lover, Beatles drummer Ringo Starr's stepdaughter, Francesca Gregorini, 34, in February. But the blonde beauty was previously involved with documentary film-maker and actor Mel Metcalfe. The pair met on the Arizona set of 1995's The Woman In The Moon, a film in which they played lovers. Until now, Venice, California resident Metcalfe, has only been acknowledged as a former boyfriend of 29-year-old de Rossi. But Los Angeles Supreme Court documents obtained by American tabloid the Star show the couple was married for almost two years. The officially separated on 1 May 1998 - just weeks before she hit it big on TV show Ally McBeal - citing "irreconcilable differences." The divorce became final on December 9 1999.
