Movie star Catherine Zeta-Jones begged OK! magazine bosses, "Don't make my wedding look like the Beckhams'." Britain's High Court heard on Tuesday. The Chicago beauty was desperate to ensure her wedding to Michael Douglas had more class and glamor than Victoria Adams and David Beckham's famously tacky nuptials 1999 - which was also covered by OK! The Douglases are suing British celebrity magazine Hello! for publishing unauthorized pictures of their December 2000 wedding in New York. Former OK! editor Martin Townsend told the court he had been given very specific instructions from the Douglas' publicist Allen Burry, as to what the magazine should print. He said, "In discussing the wedding, one particular concern of Allen's was that any coverage of it would not be like OK!'s £1 million feature on the wedding of Victoria and David Beckham. He stressed that the Douglas wedding would be nothing like the Beckham's wedding, which was a big glitzy occasion. It was going to be a private family event and any coverage of it should reflect that." So concerned about their privacy were the Douglases' that they insisted they have complete authority over what snaps were to be published. Townsend continued, "The Douglases' contract stated the pictures were to be delivered up and retouched where necessary within four days of the wedding. Some of the retouching was done by them and some by us. It was to give them time to look at the pictures and decide whether they wanted to release the pictures to us and give them adequate time to make a proper selection and where necessary to have some of the pictures retouched."
