Rani Mukherjee may have impressed her fans with a performance at the International Indian Film Awards, but the popular actress has also received heavy criticism from Odissi dancers in India. This new controversy started because Rani wore an Odissi costume for the performance although she mixed the classical dance style with Bollywood dance moves. The Orissa Dance Academy claims she should have stuck specifically to Odissi dance if she wanted to wear the clothes. "She had no business doing a filmi dance by wearing the Odissi costume. She is learning Odissi. She should know how to maintain the dignity of a classical dance form," Aruna Mohanty, secretary of the dance academy told reporters. They are now demanding that Rani issued a public apology for her 'mistake'.
