ANNA Kournikova, the tennis player, is being sued by her parents over a luxury waterfront property in Florida they jointly own.
Kournikova, 22, is being taken to court by her mother, Alla, and father, Sergei, who want to "partition" legally the Miami Beach mansion, which is worth £2.8 million. According to legal papers filed in the Miami-Dade Circuit Court, Kournikova and her parents each have "a one-third interest in the property".
The case, listed as Kournikova v Kournikova, will go before a Miami judge.
Howard Rudolph and David Leacock, acting for the parents, will ask the judge to grant a ruling which legally splits the property between the three.
The Kournikovas bought the seven-bedroom home on Miami Beach’s Sunset Island in 2000.
Mr Rudolph claimed that Kournikova was "taking the position that this is her house".
But her parents, who handled her management and promotion, insisted the property was shared and wanted to guarantee the future profits from any sale.
Kournikova has never won a major title during her tennis career but has made a personal fortune out of modelling and endorsements.
Doubts have been raised recently about her future on the tennis court, amid reports of a back injury.
