Truly like a typical scene from a Hindi film where the law enforcing agency arrives after everything is over, the Gujarat Forest Department issued notice to film actor Aamir Khan years after the film Lagaan made it, ruled and retired from the Box office.

The charge: Violating provisions of the Wild Life Act during the shooting of the opening scene of Lagaan where Aamir distracts the deer to avoid it being shot down by a “firangi”. The film crew is alleged to have proceeded without permission from the wildlife authorities to film the Chinkara.

One cannot help avoiding the irony here: Aamir as a character in “reel” life saves the Chinkara deer while in “real” life he is charged for troubling the animal.
