Shia LaBeouf, who is probably best known for his leading role in Disney's Holes, is in final talks to star opposite Harrison Ford in the fourth film in the Indiana Jones series.

Daily Variety reports that LaBeouf would play Indiana Jones' (Ford) son in the Steven Spielberg-directed movie.

The trade daily says that the plot of the film is a closely guarded secret. David Koepp (Spider-Man) wrote the script.

The film is due to begin shooting in June for a May 2008 release.

LaBeouf stars in Bay's Transformers, based on the 1980s toy, TV and comic franchise, and will also perform the lead voice in Sony's upcoming animated Surf's Up!
